the philadelphia gay and lesbian film festvial is the 2nd largest in the country. it's now underway and celebrating its 15th year. with a new name: qfest. the opening night film was "hollywood je t'aime" which we saw in a repeat screening this afternoon. really nice film with which to kick off the festvial. it's christmas and cold in paris and jerome dreams of sunny california and being an actor. this is a different kind of film: a love story. but to hollywood. and paris. and the acting profession. and friendship. and the tradional "boy meets boy" is in there too. starring the ever-watchable chad allen and debut french actor eric debets is wonderfully understated as the lead. i think this one could get a mainstream release across the country.
